Wired glass is a fire-protective glass product that provides an effective barrier against the passage of smoke and fire for up to 45 minutes. The square or diamond patterned wire mesh embedded within the glass is designed to hold the glass in place in the event of breakage due to fire. Wired glass may be used in very limited applications that require fire-rated glazing. Make sure to check with code officials to ensure proper compliance.
