The Alumni Center at the University of South Carolina is a new 3-story, 65,000 sq. ft. facility designed to create a welcoming environment for all visitors and alumni. Sustainable building design was key in this project design by LS3P architects, who incorporated regional materials, interior materials with low-emitting properties and recycled content. Energy efficiency was achieved with the HVAC systems, lighting and the building envelope that was glazed with Guardian’s SunGuard SN51/23 for maximum solar control [0.23 Solar Heat Gain Coefficient] and high visible light transmission [51% VLT] for increased natural daylighting into the building.
